The Green room was founded in 2009, starting out as a small boutique, The Green Room has grown into one of Tanzania’s most exciting and inspiring lifestyle brands.
The Green Room takes its inspiration from the love of the ocean, nature and sunshine and created an innovative collection of gifts, home ware, furniture and fashion.

From her formal training, and 10+ years of diverse experience across Africa, Bronwyn brings her unique style and touch to every project. Whether it is a luxury bush lodge, international spec office, or high-end home. She loves to push the boundaries while ensuring the finished product is in keeping with the client’s tastes and goals.
Using a host of different textures and materials, Bronwyn’s style is a mix of local African flavor, with international appeal. Bronwyn has a long track record of exceeding client expectations, having successfully completed office spaces for multinational corporations, lodges for 5 star tourism companies, and a host of diverse homes.
Elmarie van Heerden
The Green Room
Founder and owner of The Green Room, Elmarie van Heerden, a native South African, knows from experience what home decorators need in Tanzania. Her boutique has matured into an African lifestyle brand including products by more than 40 East African craftspeople. Her fine and trendy furniture is not mass production rather of handmade ecological design.
A young, fashionable entrepreneur, Elmarie van Heerden is actually a professional garden designer, her love of plants– also available at The Green Room – and her belief in nature inspired designs gave the shop its name. The Green Room has a maritime-African flair, a perfect blend of beach, bush and town.
Jamila Hemani
Dolson Interiors
Jamila Hemani is the founder of Dolson Interiors, furnishing homes, hotels and commercial spaces for the past 15 years. She is described as sophisticated, down-to-earth and easy to work with among clients and design professionals alike.
Her designs have created rich environments defined by inspirational color palettes, fascinating fabrics, and decor detailing. Her designs tailor these interiors to suit her clients’ desires and functional needs.
She has the expertise to create a wide variety of interior environments from traditional to contemporary.
